The appellation Pomerol has attracted the appetite of amateurs during the online auction which ended on 29th August. Let’s discuss this world-famous appellation, and more particularly a cru which is starting to draw attention to it, Château La Fleur Petrus. On the scale of Bordeaux, Pomerol is simply microscopic: it covers 813 hectares which represents barely 0.7% of the vines planted in the region. The French public auction regulation authority, the CVV (Conseil des ventes volontaires), has recently ranked iDealwine first French auction house. Nearly 600 buyers from over 30 countries in Europe, Asia and America have set their sights on the second auction of the month on iDealwine, closed on the 14th October 2015 Mature wines have been particularly demanded.   In Bordeaux Petrus again lead the way with the 1988 to €1,480 an increase by 28% from its previous estimate. This year’s Top 50 wines over €1,000

The top wines sold at iDealwine’s Online Auctions during the first half of 2015 were unsurprisingly dominated by Bordeaux and Burgundy, particularly domaine Romanée-Conti, Petrus and Yquem. Of the Top 50 bottles sold for more than €1,000 since January 2015, Bordeaux and Burgundy occupies 47 seats, or 94% of the total – with 27 of the Top 50 wines from Bordeaux. These results support recent analysis of the most searched wines on iDealwine.com, where Bordeaux accounted for 92% of the Top 100 most searched wines. Attractive euro boosts WineDex: 2.23% increase for April

The iDealwine indices recorded a strong performance in April, largely boosted by the weak euro. The iDealwine 100 indice rose by 2.23%, owing much of its growth to the global demand for Burgundy, which increased by 3.10%.   The prices recorded on auction in April were boosted by Burgundy, with the regional iDealwine Burgundy indice appreciating by 3.10% during this period.
