Every single bottle arriving on your doorstep has been overseen at every step of the process by the Supply Chain team. They do a role that is not seen very often but is essential. They make sure that everything, from storage to shipment, occurs perfectly. Meet Paul, Victorien, Emma and Maxime.
Paul and Lionel lead the team
What happens when you choose your delivery option on the iDealwine website? The team manages everything from creating Champagne certificates for customs to coordinating shipments with our partners. Shipping wine around the world is no easy task as the wine itself is fragile and needs to be kept at a constant temperature, but the bottles are heavy and regulations differ from country to country. The team has worked hard over the years to find the best logistics solutions for each country, ensuring that the bottles arrive at your door in the best conditions. Out of the three founders, the team falls under Lionel’s supervision.
Paul heads the team, having proved himself in other positions at iDealwine. Arriving at the start of 2018 to work in the Appraisal team, he then moved to the Supply Chain team before being its manager in 2022. He keeps on eye on everything, monitors each shipment across the globe, coordinates with the team and is the point of contact for all logistics projects. So great responsibilities!
His favourite wine right now: Paul has a soft spot for the 2016 Champagne Blanc de Blancs from Jacques Lassaigne.
A partnership forged in logistics
Victorien, supply chain and customs coordinator
Before joining iDealwine, Victorien worked in a wine shop and as a sommelier in a restaurant. Having arrived in January 2023 in the customer service team, he soon moved to specialise in logistics.
His role: Make sure that your orders arrive in the best possible conditions, having chosen the shipping partner that best suits your needs. Behind the scenes, he also improves the internal processes with other teams so that everything runs smoothly. This is a key role so that you can enjoy your bottles peacefully, without any stress.
His favourite wine right now: A 2018 Riesling Clos Liebenberg from Valentin Zusslin which he recently tasted blind.
A fun fact: Victorien previously worked in the restaurant owned by the famous Loire winemaker, Jacky Blot. This is where he honed his wine knowledge even more.
Emma, supply chain and customs assistant
With her foreign languages degree and masters in the wine and spirits trade from Angers, Emma already had solid foundations before joining iDealwine in April 2025. She started her working life with a 6-month internship at a Sicilian winery, which was followed by a sales position at Maison Giffard.
At iDealwine, she works as a supply chain and customs assistant. What does this entail? Overseeing orders, preparing customs documents and specific shipment labels, and sending empty parcels to customers who wish to consign their wine with iDealwine. Working closely with the Customer Service team, she also manages specific requests that customers may have, from shipping large orders to special deliveries. She is here to help!
Her favourite wine? Emma has very fond memories of tasting a 2018 Australian wine at the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux.
Maxime, storage cellar coordinator
Maxime learned everything he knows about wines in the vines and in the classroom. He holds a higher education diploma in viticulture and oenology and a marketing degree with hands-on experience working at Penfolds in Australia and at estates in the Loire. After spending two years with the iDealwine Appraisal team, he took over the reins of the iDealwine Storage Cellar in July 2024.
Today, we manages that day-to-day running of the cellar: the contracts, the wines, fees, external and internal bottle entries, all while working hand-in-hand with our logistics partner, Gamba & Rota. In other words, he watches over several thousand bottles of wine. More than normal stock, these are bottles who have been tuck away to age, protected from all that could harm them. Maxime also works to create the best interface possible for you.
His favourite wine: When he isn’t handling logistics, Maxime voluntarily empties the stocks of Pierre Paillard’s Coteaux Champenois.
A fun fact: Each year, he returns to his favourite estate, that of Fournier in Champagne, to lend a helping hand at harvest.
