Earlier this month, the iDealwine team crossed the Rhine and headed deep into the heart of the Black Forest to take part in the Baden-Baden Wein & Gourmet Festival organised by the wine, food and travel magazine Falstaff. The three days we spent there were jam packed with a wine fair, a fascinating masterclass, an evening at wineBANK Baden … and of course, some truly stunning bottles.
From 13th to 15th June, members of iDealwine’s team were thrilled to meet wine enthusiasts from all over Germany at the elegant Baden-Baden Convention Centre. There, we presented a haute-couture selection of French wines that quickly won over the German crowd. Among the beloved wines were:
Burgundy
• Bret Brothers – 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé En Chatenay
• Harmand Geoffroy – 2020 Premier Cru La Bossière
• La Vougeraie – 2020 Clos de Thorey
Loire Valley
• Étienne Bodet – 2022 Graippeaux Clos de la Durandière
Alsace
• Marcel Deiss – 2022 Grand Cru Schlossberg
From the land to the glass: Organic icons in the limelight

On Saturday, we had the pleasure to co-host a masterclass titled “Naturally Organic: A Tour of French Icons”, alongside the brilliant Romana Echensperger, Master of Wine. This session explored the evolution of organic and biodynamic winemaking across France’s key regions, enriched by insights from the 2025 iDealwine Barometer.
The wines poured sparked real enthusiasm, especially:
• 2020 Ambonnay – Champagne Pierre Paillard
• 2022 Savennières Le Bel Ouvrage – Domaine Laureau
• 2015 Haut-Bages Libéral – 5th Grand Cru Classé
An Evening at wineBANK Baden: Great wines, Great company

Saturday came to close on a high note with an Open House event at wineBANK Baden, one of the exclusive clubs for fine wine lovers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For this special evening, we brought along a few more gems to share:
• 2016 Grand Corbin Despagne – Grand Cru Classé, Saint-Émilion
• 2023 Riesling Rosenberg – Domaine Barmès-Buecher
• 2022 Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Didiers
They were all enthusiastically received, with particular interest shown in the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges charity auction, for which iDealwine proudly serves as the official auctioneer.
Fine wines, memorable encounters… and more to come
This won’t be our last German adventure – far from it! iDealwine will be back again this autumn, heading to a different region for more tastings, stories, and shared moments over a glass. Stay tuned for the next entry!
