La Cave | A breath of fresh air: what’s new for August?

With blistering hot weather that tells us August has well and truly arrived, we recommend finding a shady spot and checking out what’s new this summer at iDealwine! There are some stunning bottles to enjoy (or quickly hide in your cellar before they fly out the door!); we have a new domain available, La Cras from the Burgundy region; as well as new vintages including Elodie Balme (Rhône), Clos Fantine and Mas Jullien (both Languedoc). We have also restocked many of our sold-out wines!

At iDealwine, we won’t wait until September to bring you fresh ideas: here is a taste of our newest additions, ideal for your cellar! Check out these wonderful new additions…

A new Burgundy: Domaine de la Cras

We have added a new domain to La Cave, Domaine de la Cras, located in Plombières-lès-Dijon in the Burgundy region. This vineyard was bought in 2013 by Dijon city council, and covers 160 hectares between the towns of Dijon, Plombières-lès-Dijon and Corcelles-les-Monts. The idea behind this acquisition was to restrict the city’s growth into the countryside and maintain a sort of green belt around its urban area. The domain is managed by winegrower Marc Soyard and consists of 8 hectares of vines growing pinot noir and chardonnay. It is certified organic and grown using biodynamic methods. Originally from the Jura region, Soyard worked for several years at Domaine Bizot in Vosne-Romanée both as head of Cultivation and in the cellar (nice work, if you can get it!). These wines are worth the wait and should be enjoyed in a few years’ time.

New Vintages from our Partner Estates

We are shouting it from the rooftops: the new vintages of your favourite domains have arrived! Check out our Burgundy wines, you now have access to the 2018 vintages of Château de Meursault as well as the , also located in Meursault. Domaine d’Anne-Françoise Gros in Pommard also has delicious new options – Boucherottes, Arvelets… all in the same great Burgundy vintage. Up next, the Languedoc region where we will find the 2018 vintage from Clos Maïa; the 2017 and 2018 vintages from Mas Jullien; and 2015, 2016 and 2017 from Clos Fantine. In the Rhône Valley, why not try Elodie Balme’s 2019? We also have a 2019 from Domaine Coulet, which is paired up with its 2018 vintage. In Champagne and in the Loire Valley, there are also new vintages available and ready for you to enjoy!

Restock Alert: Your Favourite Domains are back!

At iDealwine our work is never done – even during the summer holidays – we are delighted to announce that our sold-out wines are back in stock! Yes, we got our hands on Domaine Cornelissen (remember Frank, the one who tamed the vines of Mt Etna?) as well as Domaine Jousset in Montlouis! Both recently starred in our Allocation of the Week and unsurprisingly, neither lasted long on our site. There is a second chance to get your hands on bottles from iconic estates like the well-known Alsatian winegrower Albert Boxler, the reserved but no less famous Alain Voge in Cornas or the Chandon de Briailles estate, a winegrower to watch in Côte de Beaune. If you are more into liqueurs, a wine from Jean-Marc Roulot will satisfy your tastebuds with the famous Abricot du Roulot. Don’t miss out!

Take me to iDealwine!
