La Ferme Saint Martin | Rugged & Rolling Rhone Valley

vineyard rhone valley ferme saint martin

The name Saint-Martin was given to this sloping farm in the 12th century, but it was not until the 1950s that the story of the Ferme Saint Martin began. At the beginning it was just as much a farm as a vineyard, the owners growing cherry trees, olive trees, and apricot trees as well as tending to vines.

It became more vineyard than farm in the 1970s, with 11 hectares dedicated to vine-growing, and the steps towards organic certification were taken in 1998. It was Guy Julien, son of founders Aimé and Yvonne Julien who established the strong reputation of the estate, and now son Thomas is following in his footsteps, and has taken over the running of the vineyards.
