One year ago, iDealwine achieved a key step in its international development when it opened its office in New York. Roman Weil, our US Market Manager, moved to the Big Apple to be closer to our American customers. Let’s hear what he’s been up to.
iDealwine’s goal is simple: to bring French fine wine to an exacting and curious American audience where passionate wine enthusiasts, collectors and discerning buyers rub shoulders. Our offices in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore allow us to offer a better service to the local clientèle on the search for beautiful bottles. And that’s exactly what Roman has been doing.

Art du Vin masterclass
Inspired by the passionate wine enthusiasts we meet every day, we created our masterclass series the Art du Vin, organised in partnership with Alliance Française New York. These events bring together international wine lovers who call New York their home and spread the iDealwine name far beyond France’s borders, putting fine wines produced by our partner producers firmly in the limelight.
After the first two masterclasses which focused on Burgundy and then Bordeaux, the third one took participants on a tour of French organic and biodynamic wines.
A Tour de France of organic and biodynamic wines
Participants travelled around France through wine from emblematic estates which were carefully selected by Roman:
- Guillaume Overnoy – 2022 Chardonnay Charmille Côtes du Jura
- Clos de la Coulée de Serrant – 2023 Savennières
- Maxime Magnon – 2023 Corbières Rozeta
- Marcel Deiss – 2022 Alsace Burlenberg
- Château La Puy – 2022 Cuvée Emilien
These rare wines certified organic or biodynamic are often unfindable on the American market. But something more than wonder at unknown wines settled over the room during the event – a charged emotion. Everyone could sense that there was more than wine in their glass; there was also a truthfulness, an intensity.

These lively, sincere wines each told a story and created a beautiful, shared moment. This is also what we seek to pass on. We work to bring unique wines to the forefront, to show them off to an attentive audience who appreciate their background, their origins and the emotions they evoke.
And we won’t stop there! June sees the fourth edition of the Art du Vin masterclass, which will focus on Sancerre and wines from the Loire Valley, as well as the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter New York, which we’re participating in again this year. These events will give us more opportunities to shine a light on the remarkable work that our partner producers o day in, day out to craft their incredible wine.
