It will come as no surprise to regular readers of this blog that we’re avid readers of all wine writing at iDealwine. We devour all kinds of wine media – we love the Drinks Business for industry news, Noble Rot for their tongue-in-cheek long-reads, the World of Fine Wine Magazine for their exhaustive academic journal-worthy articles, in French we love both the RVF and B+D wine guides, and now we have Full Pour to add to our list.
Launched in 2023 by Lauren Buzzeo, former executive editor of Wine Enthusiast, Full Pour is beautiful, brave, and beverage boundary crossing. Wine lovers through and through at iDealwine, we do dabble in spirits and occasionally in beer and cider. All are covered in Full Pour, the drinks’ magazine that doesn’t discriminate! Intrigued to learn more, we were delighted to attend the launch of the latest issue in New York.

Lauren, now the editor-in-chief of Full Pour Magazine welcomed us to Community Wine & Spirits in the vibrant Chelsea neighbourhood of New York City for the launch, along with influential professionals and journalists from the wine and spirits sector – a brilliant opportunity for us to grow and strengthen partnerships.
It was the perfect opportunity to introduce Roman Weil who recently started as iDealwine’s US Market Development and Key Account Manager. Originally from Bordeaux, Roman brings an international outlook to the role, having lived in New Zealand and accumulated years of experience working in wine. His background encompasses both winemaking and sales positions, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the wine world. In his most recent role, Roman specialised in exporting New Zealand wine (mostly Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir) to the USA. He brings his knowledge of navigating the three-tier system to iDealwine and is on hand to handle any queries from our US customers.
A focal point of the event was a 45-minute discussion led by Alix, our Head of International Development, and Lauren, which immersed guests in the intricacies of the fine wine industry. The conversation covered topics such as current market trends, the importance of iDealwine’s extensive data which offer insight into auction results, and recent changes in supply and demand in the fine wine world.
Alix and Roman also spoke proudly about our role organising the Hospices de Nuits auction, which takes place in March 2025. Guests were able to taste the Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Didiers – Cuvée Jacques Duret from this prestigious Burgundy estate, which generated plenty of excitement for an event which wine enthusiasts are already eagerly awaiting.

The afternoon continued with a friendly after-work gathering, where partners featured in Full Pour’s latest issue showcased and shared their bottles. A cider producer, a Spanish winery, an American whiskey producer, and, of course, iDealwine offered tastings of their specialties, adding a spirit of excellence to the event.
It was a super exciting evening and there’s lots more exciting things in the pipeline for 2025. iDealwine has donned a letterman jacket and is truly living the American dream!
