Bordeaux sale | Reassuringly classic cuvées

We’re leaning into the comfort of a classic this week, with a fixed price sale dedicated to the consistently prestigious region of Bordeaux. Which of these beautiful bottles will be making their way to your cellar? We have an imperial of the 2016 Château Cheval Blanc, a 2001 Château d’Yquem, and lots of lovely vintages to (re)discover…some of them at very accessible prices!

There’s no such thing as perfection…except for Robert Parker, who gave an exceptional score of 100/100 to Cheval Blanc in its 2016 vintage. This is already a very special bottle, so I’m sure you can imagine that its imperial size will make for a sublime tasting experience to share.

Staying with the Saint Emilion grand cru, Château Angélus is represented here in its 2014 and 2016 vintages, both classic bottles and magnums. The only thing left to do is pick, before keeping them in the cellar to age for a few years.

On the opposite bank, specifically in Pauillac, there are large formats aplenty to entice you. Some of them come straight from the cellar of the cult classic Château Lafite Rothschild, a classified first growth from the original 1855 classification. An imperial of the 2000 vintage and a 2003 double magnum are waiting for you!

From the Haut-Médoc, you shouldn’t pass by a fantastic vertical of eleven vintages between 1996 and 2008 from the cru bourgeois exceptionnel Château Malecasse.

We couldn’t help but spot the Saint-Estèphe from Château Haut-Marbuzet. This landmark estate comes in various formats and vintages in this Bordeaux selection. To enjoy now or age for later, you’ll find magnums from 2014, 2005 bottles, and others spanning from 1985 to 2017.

As always, we’ve sought out some gems from the Bordeaux primeurs campaign, so those of you looking for something new might want to try the 2018 vintage from Château Barde-Haut or Château Charmail.

Directly from the domains themselves, the new 2018 vintage is also available from the biodynamic Château Haut Bergey and Château Lagrange, a third classified cru from Saint Julien. We’ve also replenished our stocks from Château de Reignac in several vintages. A chance to try some fine wines that have been known to outperform some of the region’s “higher-ranking” names!

Exploring the cuvées available in this sale, you’ll notice that we have a wealth of 2013 and 2017 vintages, cuvées that are particularly interesting for their unmatched price to enjoyment ratio! And don’t forget, there are some lots reduced by price when ordered in larger quantities…
