What’s new? Italian signatures and bubbly restocks

There’s something new in the air…These are the latest bottles to arrive in the iDealwine cellar, and they’ll whisk you away in a simple sip: between Italy, Champagne, Bordeaux, and others…which destination takes your fancy?

Bella Italia

Ah, Italy! Tuscany, Piedmont, and Sicily among other regions are a delight for wine lovers like you, and we’re proud to introduce two wineries to our network of estates. The first one, Le Macchiole, is located near the Tyrrhenian Sea, outside Bolgheri, and is named after the farmhouse where the winery was founded in 1975. In 1981, Eugenio Campolmi decided to plant some new vines. After Eugenio’s tragic death, his wife Cinzia took over the reins of the estate with the help of oenologist Luca D’Attoma. For now, we have the Bolgheri Rosso 2018, which blends Bordeaux grapes with Syrah for a bright and velvety wine. The second estate is Podere Le Ripi in Montalcino, the masterpiece of Francesco Illy who went from coffee (you might’ve heard of Illycaffè) to wine, a farm in the heart of a forest, olive and fruit trees. Biodynamics here are not simply a practical question, but a deeply philosophical approach. Three vintages are available, made from the typical Italian grape variety, Sangiovese. Other Italian gems are also on the menu including Angelo Gaja and the Sottimano estate

Bubbles are calling

We never tire of bubbles, especially at the end of the year. And here, we also have two new domains to introduce: the Delamotte house, our new partner, which has made its reputation on a complex, harmonious and very seductive blanc de blancs cuvée, and the family domain Adrien Renoir taken over in 2014 by the young winegrower of the same name in the commune of Verzy, a grand cru of the Montagne de Reims. We also announce the return of some of your favourite cuvées, and in particular the wines of Laurent Perrier, which were until now victims of their success. Don’t miss the Starck limited edition brut nature from Louis Roederer, the champagnes from Duval-Leroy, but also the Grande Cuvée from Krug, Carte d’Or brut from Drappier and others.

Restocks and new vintages

As you know, iDealwine keeps up with what you’re looking for. Some of our wines become victims of their own success, and we make sure to restock these ones asap! Coulée de Serrant, Châteaux de Ferrand, Gloria, Latour-Martillac and Langoa-Barton, Ogier, Fanny Sabre and Chantal Lescure are all good examples. We’ve also been looking forward to new vintages from our partner winemakers: Château de Beaucastel in the Rhône, Clos de la Roilette in the Beaujolais, Château l’Evangile in Bordeaux, François Cotat and Olivier Pithon in the Loire. Get your hands on them while you can!
