Special catalogues from an avid collector
“An abundant lot”. The words used to describe the selection put up for auction by this passionate wine collector. Haute couture is another that springs to mind, especially considering the region of choice that emerges above the rest: Burgundy. A 2018 Chablis premier cru Montée de Tonnerre from François Raveneau is an excellent start, alongside other such sumptuous Chardonnays as Coche-Dury’s 2015 Meursault, as well as an Aligoté Sous Châtelet by Auvenay in the 2014 vintage. Arnaud Ente makes a spectacular appearance with the 2009 Meursault premier cru Les Gouttes d’Or, another lot that qualifies this catalogue as exceptional.
There are some red Burgundy bottles in the selection, too, most notably from Domaine Bizot: the 2005 Vosne-Romanée Les Jachés and the 2014 Marsannay Clos du Roy are excellent cuvées to welcome into your cellar.
Other names that got us interested include the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin En Reniard by Charles Lachaux, Domaine de la Romanée Conti’s 2014 La Tâche, and two bottles from Leroy, the Bonnes-Mares and Nuits-Saint-Georges cuvées, both from the 2014 vintage.
A handful of Jura names bring a breeze of new energy to this rather classic collection, with a 2016 Domaine des Miroirs, Ganevat’s 2006 Les Vignes de mon Père, and the 2018 Trousseau cuvée from Houillon et Bruyère.
Finally, if you’re a fan of the Rhône, this special catalogue contains a selection of 2007 Rayas in both white and red.
