Welcome to the Louis Boillot domain
Are you familiar with Louis Boillot’s wines? This Burgundian estate, which is a new partner domain of iDealwine, is managed by one of the descendants of the famous family from Volnay – the Boillots. It is also the result of the winemaker’s desire to break free from his family, after having worked with his brother and father at the Lucien Boillot domain for some time. The domain produces precise wines, allowing their fine terroirs, most notably that of Gevrey-Chambertin, to be clearly expressed.
Wines bearing 4 signatures, a joint effort by the masters of Auvergne
Exclusively available online, through iDealwine, discover the result of a collaboration between multiple talented winemakers: Francine & Francois Dhumes/Aurelien Lefort/ Manu Duveau / Vincent Marie. The first letter of each of their first names gave the project its name: F.F.A.M.V. The desire to share their work, and their different vinification methods, led these winemakers to a micro-plot of 0.6 hectares planted with Gamay d’Auvergne vines. On this volcanic soil, the vines, which are more than 80 years old, have been carefully tended by these winemakers, in order to create two exceptional wines: a red Astrolabe 2020 (carbonic maceration, yields of 15 hectolitres per hectare) and a sparkling rosé Bulles d’Astrée 2021 (no residual sugar, very weak yield of 10 hectolitres per hectare).

Let’s start with Burgundy, where one of the most well-known role models of Marsannay, Sylvain Pataille, has bestowed the honour of several bottles of his 2020 vintage upon us! The very fine domain Méo Camuzet, which truly sets the standard in the Côte de Nuits, is now available in the 2020 vintage. Domaine François Lumpp, the flagship domain of the Givry appellation, has also delivered its latest 2020 vintage, in an impressive range of Premier Cru climats. Finally, the A.F Gros (Anne-Françoise) domain offers up Beaune and Gevrey-Chambertin wines which should be aged for several years.
Not far from there, Beaujolais which is really taking off now with the emergence of some superb winemakers, has shared some secrets with us… The unbeatable Marcel Lapierre, the don of Beaujolais and of perfectly crafted natural wines, is now available in the latest 2021 vintage from Morgon. The Louis Claude Desvignes domain and his many Morgon wines will also be able to entice you with the mastery and balance of the 2021 vintage.
The Loire, which always provides great white wines, strikes again with a winemaker who keeps gaining in precision, vintage after vintage… his name is Claude Riffault. His production is quite limited, and it is hard to find his wines outside of iDealwine! Some people compare his wines to Haut-Brion Blancs!
In Bordeaux, the very fine 2018 vintage has found a new interpretation through Château La Violette in Pomerol. Unsurprisingly, you will find hints of violet in this excellent wine!
Finally, in Germany, the Markus Molitor domain, which we have recently visited, no longer needs any introduction. There, some 31 wines await you, in vintages ranging from 2009 to 2021, including whites, reds, dessert wines and rosés (yes, you read that correctly!).
