The warming wines of the Rhône lend themselves well to the arrival of autumn, especially those from the finest and most renowned appellations. The latest vintages, especially between 2017 and 2020, have been superb, each with their own style. Our irresistible selection features bottles perfect for maturing as well as wines that can be uncorked really soon.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

2017 Croix de Bois – Chapoutier

One of the estate’s excellent single-parcel cuvées, this 100% Grenache has a finesse and a depth that are worthy of the appellation’s greatest. The freshness of the 2017 vintage also makes it accessible in its youth.

2017 Pierre André

A round and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape with gorgeous aromas of ripe red and black fruit, followed by cacao notes and a minty finish.

2014 Hommage à Jacques Perrin – Château de Beaucastel

The star cuvée from one of the appellation’s highest-quality properties, Hommage à Jacques Perrin is made mainly from old Mourvèdre that gives the blend aromatic strength and concentration beyond compare. An exceptional cuvée that will age beautifully.

2014 Guigal

The Rhône’s emblematic estate offers an accomplished Châteauneuf with an excellent price to enjoyment ratio. Matured in foudres for 36 months, this wine can be uncorked now or in about a decade!

Gigondas

2019 Raspail Ay

A reference point for the appellation, this 18-hectare domain produces wines that are especially successful; this 2019 has complexity and depth, at once fruity and spiced.

2020 Saint-Cosme

Château Saint-Cosme crafts vibrant and balanced wines with voluptuous tannin. This is a truly fine cuvée!

2018 Clos Derrière Vieille – Santa Duc

An elegant and delicate wine, the fruit of heroic efforts in the vineyard and the winery alike, work that has been undertaken since 1994.

Côte-Rôtie

2017 Château d’Ampuis

This Guigal cuvée is made in the image of the château whose name it carries; classic and timeless. Matured for 38 months in new oak, this is one of the appellation’s most powerful wines.

2018 Ampodium – Michel Rostaing

A lovely introduction to the single-parcel cuvées of René Rostaing, and a delicious expression of the Syrah grape; finesse and elegance abound!

2018 Bassenon – Yves Cuilleron

A Côte-Rôtie that can be enjoyed now or in a few years’ time; it is smooth, fresh, and full of flavour, a highly charming cuvée.

Saint-Joseph

2018 Les Vieilles Vignes – Laurent Tardieu

Violet, white pepper and liquorice make up the aromatic bouquet of this Syrah and Serine blend.

2019 Reflet – François Villard

A deep and complex Saint-Joseph that can mature for up to 15 years. Its notes of stewed fruit and spices pair wonderfully with red meat dishes.

2020 Silice – Domaine Coursodon

This silky Saint-Joseph from Maison Coursodon offers a flowing texture and gorgeously fruity aromas. A great success!

Hermitage

2017 La Maison Bleue – Paul Jaboulet-Ainé

Formerly called La Petite Chapelle, this cuvée is made from grapes grown in the finest terroirs of the Hermitage hill, vinified by a renowned estate.

2020 Yann Chave
