Here it is, our annual Barometer has been published! A goldmine of information about emerging and long-term trends in the fine wine auction market, the domains identified in this document are the ones to watch!
What is the Barometer?
This is a 200-page publication containing a wealth of figures and analysis of the wine auction market from the year just gone, as well as predictions for future developments. We look at key figures, top bottles and domains, highlights from the year – including international trade, the digitalisation of auctions, and the intensifying search for organic and natural wines -, consumer trends, and a region-by-region analysis of highest-performing wines, top bids, iconic names, and up-and-coming estates.
But on what did we base all of this analysis? Well, we have a uniquely extensive database of auction results from the 176,000 bottles that went under the hammer in 2020. Being France’s top wine auctioneer, and a global co-leader in online wine auctions, we have access to sales figures that reveal market trends in great detail. This is a very useful publication for those who are interested in following new domains that bidders have been loving, as well as for those putting together or managing a cellar, not forgetting the importance of this analysis from an investment point of view.
What are the main points from the 2021 Barometer?
