How to trump Trump’s tariffs: iDealwine’s handy guide

Calling all American wine lovers: here’s a little loophole that will help you to carry on enjoying French wines in spite of the 25% tariffs.

We all breathed a big sigh of relief upon hearing that the threat of punitive 100% US tariffs on European imports (including wine) has been staved off at least until the end of this year, and we’re sure you did too. Yet the 25% tariffs introduced in October are still, sadly, in place. Which is why we’ve thought up a loophole that should allow you to carry on enjoying French wines as much as possible: you can now filter wines by alcohol percentage, and so have direct access only to wines above 14% ABV, wines that are not subject to the new taxes.

We hope that this will make your life a little easier while browsing through our very exhaustive selection of fine wines!
