Charity Auction with bottles direct from the producers in aid of a Burgundian association

Meursault bottles up for auction for charity on iDealwine

Meursault’s winemakers have gathered 32 magnificent large-format bottles.  This selection has been donated in aide of the (H)Être association, which was created by members of the palliative care team at the Burgundian hospital Hospices Civils de Beaune. The charity helps patients as they approach the end of their lives. The bottles which have been carefully looked after in their producer’s cellars are being sold without a reserve price for this noble cause. All of the proceeds raised during the auction will all go to the charity (including the buyer’s fees excluding tax).

(H)être, the association created by medical staff for their patients

 the (H)être association logo

During the pandemic when care changed, the palliative care staff at the hospital Hospices Civils de Beaune in Burgundy reflected on what their patients needed most in their lives. Thus, the (H)être association was born to fulfil these goals. Hêtre is the French name for a birch tree and être is the verb for ‘to be’. The team came up with a logo showing a tree and gradually makes way for the humans at the centre of charity’s goal (the hands).

It should be said that most healthcare in France is covered by the state system but there is still a part that the patient has to cover and non-medicinal treatments aren’t always reimbursed at all. Quickly theses costs can mount up which is not a worry that anyone would wish to have as they approach the end of their lives. This is why the nurses, doctors, psychologists and interns came together to set up this charity that helps patients through the purchase of new equipment, art therapy, musical therapy sessions, and financial aid to help patients go on holiday (which is expensive when you need to travel in an ambulance).

Take part in the charity auction from 17 to 28 June on iDealwine

Meursault’s winemakers have joined forces to amass 32 bottles that have come straight from their cellars, so we know they’ve been kept in the best possible conditions. Not only can you take part in a charity auction, but you can also win large formats that will be perfect when you have a large dinner party or celebration.

Meursault climats shine through their splendid white wines: Perrières, Charmes, Sous la Velle, Genévrières, Gouttes d’Or… But there are also some bottles from its neighbouring appellations that produce both white and red wine: Volnay Santenots, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard Grands Epenots, Bâtard Montrachet…

The selection will take you from 1999 and right up to 2022 with a broad range of bottles from between 2015 and 2020.

iDealwine is thrilled to be able to support these winemakers who’ve generously given these fantastic bottles and we’d like to thank each and every one of them: Bachelet Monnot, Vincent Bouzereau, Michelot, Jean-Michel Gaunoux & Fils, Jean-Marie Bouzereau, Marc Rougeot, Berthelemot, Pierre Boisson, Bernard Millot, Rodolphe Demougeot, Francois Mikulski, Christian Bellang & Fils, Jean Monnier & Fils, Michel Bouzereau, Leflaive, Franck Grux, Antoine Jobard, Buisson-Charles, Bitouzet-Prieur, Yves Boyer-Martenot, Ballot-Millot, and Xavier Monnot.
