We joined in the fun at The City Wine Show in London last weekend, pouring some nice bottles for fellow wine lovers and introducing new faces to some of the iDealwine classics. Champagne: the sublime camouflages of Lui Bolin for Ruinart

Source: Maison Ruinart Champagne house Ruinart has collaborated with Chinese artist Liu Bolin for the 2018 instalment of its yearly art project and has unveiled a new collection of limited edition coffrets (wooden Champagne boxes) for their flagship Blanc de Blancs cuvée. To compliment the project, a series of photographic works were also released that centre around the camouflage of the artist. Wine tasting event: 2015 Bordeaux Grands Crus

Tuesday 15th February saw the annual tasting of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux to present the 2015 vintage. This was the perfect occasion to compare this vintage across the appellations. We sent Marie, Elsa and Raphaël down to meet the producers and, more importantly, taste the wines. iDealwine has put a strong emphasis in the past few years on developing the Asian market and this strategy is proving very successful. Hospices de Beaune: new records, a raise of €13.5 million

On Sunday 19th November, the 157th charity auction of the Hospices de Beaune was held. A sale that reached the record level of €13.5 million collected, reflecting the frenzy of connoisseurs for great Burgundy wines. An enthusiasm reinforced in recent weeks by the purchase of Clos de Tart by the businessman François Pinault. Last Sunday (3rd Sunday of November), the traditional charity auction of the Hospices de Beaune was held. In November, Arthur de Lencquesaing and Alix Rodarie, from iDealwine’s international department are travelling around Asia to meet customers, take part in wine fairs, masterclasses and present iDealwine to new wine lovers. Asia is the fastest growing market for iDealwine, with 64% growth since January 2017. It represents 13.5% of our turnover. Asian connoisseurs mainly buy Bordeaux or Burgundy grands crus, but have an increasing interest for some niche wines and appellations featured on iDealwine, usually harder to find in traditional Asian distribution networks.
