Auction | Douce France

Over the next month or so, you might have a little more time to yourself than usual. Why not make the most of it by exploring what our latest auction has to offer? A 2015 Château Petrus, or perhaps a 1973 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques from Domaine Armand Rousseau? If you’re looking for a spirit, we have some of those too, from France and further afield…

No starting price

We know that you’re interested by these cuvées, so let’s have a look at the bottles with no starting price. We have a Les vignes de mon Père cuvée from the famous Jean-François Ganevat in the 2008 vintage. Heading to the Loire, Clos Rougeard’s 2005 Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg is waiting for your bids. From Burgundy, a 1973 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques from Domaine Armand Rousseau is perhaps a bottle to tempt you? And from Bordeaux, which one will be yours: a 1990 cuvée from the legendary Château d’Yquem or a 2004 6-bottle lot from Château Lynch-Bages?

Generous formats

For those of you thinking ahead to get-togethers, these bottles are for you. We have a 2017 magnum of Richebourg and a 2016 magnum of Vosne-Romanée premier cru Aux Cros Parantoux, both from Domaine Méo-Camuzet. From Bordeaux, the 1947 Magnum of Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande will make for a happy time. And if you’re looking to go really big, you might like the double magnum of 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Combe des Fous from Pascal and Vincent Maurel!

A regional tour

Bordeaux and Burgundy are, of course, in the running order. With a 1961 Musigny grand cru from Domaine Comte de Vogüé, a 2017 Chambertin from Armand Rousseau, and a lot of three bottles of 1982 Lafite Rothschild, these classic regions are putting on a good show. In the east of France, the king of sparkling wines makes an appearance with a 2005 Cristal cuvée from Roederer. The inimitable 1985 Dom Pérignon from Moët & Chandon will be a delight to drink. From the Jura, discover Pierre Overnoy’s vin Jaune Arbois Pupillin in its 1999 vintage. Rounding off the tour in Alsace, we have a lot of 6 half-bottles of Albert Mann’s 2008 Pinot Gris Altenbourg.

Sublime spirits

Fans of spirits, especially Scottish and Japanese whisky, will undoubtedly find something to make their day in this auction. We have 1966 John Grant Glenfarclas single malt as well as 1984 Karuizawa single malt. Otherwise, we have some lovely French cognacs and Armagnacs such as the Louis XIII by Rémy Martin.
