This auction full of myths and legends brings together 900 outstanding bottles. A true panorama of the greatest collectable spirits, it brings together iconic bottles, some of which have never been seen before on Fine Spirits Auctions, from the most sought-after producers and distilleries. Chartreuse, Velier, Karuizawa, Saint James, Macallan, Blanton’s and Port Ellen make up a collection of exceptional richness.
France opens this prestigious selection with some major names. Cognac is brilliantly represented by Martell’s L’Or and several variations of Hennessy’s Paradis. French whisky is also present thanks to rare bottlings of Michel Couvreur, while Chartreuse makes its mark with several old bottles, with many dating from the 1960s. Lovers of agricultural rum will also find two historical references that have become legendary: the 1931 and 1936 Saint James, witnesses of the incomparable heritage of this category.
The collection of rums continues beyond the French Caribbean. The catalogues bring together great Caribbean bottlings from the 1970s from the likes of Rum Nation and Silver Seal. Velier naturally plays a central role with several Caroni, some Foursquare as well as the mythical 1978 Skeldon. As for the oldest bottle in this selection, that would be the extremely rare 1948 Crown Jamaica.
Whisky is represented by bottlings from all over the world. Ireland is distinguished with an exceptional Locke’s 1946 Kilbeggan, accompanied by 1985 and 1986 Bushmills as well as several Midleton bottles. The United States offers sought-after names such as Blanton’s, E.H. Taylor, W.L. Weller, Buffalo Trace and various editions of the Parker’s Heritage Collection. Japan also holds a prime position thanks to bottles that have become iconic: Hanyu Card Series, Nikka 40 Year Old, Yamazaki Private Cask and Hibiki. But the most spectacular lot is undoubtedly the 1965 Karuizawa Monyou dual set with one bottle aged in a former Sherry barrel and the other in a Bourbon one: a lot as rare as can be at auctions.
Finally, Scotland concludes this journey with an impressive selection of the most sought after distilleries: Ardbeg, Bowmore, Brora, Glendronach, Glenfarclas, Highland Park, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Macallan, Port Ellen, Springbank and many others are present. Many rare and legendary bottlings await you in the catalogues!
