Have you seen the mature vintages that have just arrived at iDealwine? Much more than dusty bottles, they are in fact beautiful references to time gone by. Let’s see what’s on offer.
Whatever your preferred region, iDealwine has unearthed some of its finest signatures. In Bordeaux, renowned for the exceptional longevity of its wines, reds, whites and sweet wines are waiting for you. Château Chasse-Spleen 2009, Cheval Blanc 2010, and Grand Puy Lacoste 2009 for the reds; Château Pape Clément 2011 and Lynch Bages 2001 for the whites.
From the Rhône, there are plenty of prestigious appellations that you could turn to. Châteauneuf-du-Pape with the 2001 Clos des Papes, Cornas with the 2006 Auguste Clape, Côte-Rôtie with La Landonne 1991 by Guigal, Hermitage with La Chapelle 1996 by Paul Jaboulet Aîné and Gigondas with the cuvée Prestige des Hautes Garrigues 2006 by Domaine Santa Duc.
Bubbles, too, know how to age gracefully. And what if you took advantage of this special selection to have some in your cellar before Christmas? Krug Collection 1998, a magnum of the extra-brut Minéral from Agrapart & Fils, Champ Caïn 2009 from Jacquesson and Cristal 1998 from Roederer all represent the prestige of the Champagne region. Bulle Ton Body from the Marnes Blanches estate comes from the Jura, and the Loire valley has fizz from La Taille aux Loups and Bellevue.
For whites, regions such as Alsace and the Loire are renowned for their mature bottles. In the former, opt for great names like Deiss and his Grand Cru Mambourg 2006, Zind-Humbrecht and its Gewurztraminer Herrenweg de Turckheim 2006, or Bott-Geyl’s Pinot Gris Sonnenglanz 2011. From the Loire, Chenin always surprises when its aromatic profile is allowed to evolve. Rediscover the Savennières Clos de la Coulée de Serrant (2003, 2005 and 2010), the Clos du Papillon of the Closel estate (2008), or the Vouvray Clos Naudin 1999.
Let’s not forget Burgundy, which produces wines of great finesse that retain a strong spirit in the face of passing time. For great Chardonnays, opt for the 2011 Corton-Charlemagne from Domaine de Montille and the 2006 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières from Etienne Sauzet. Noble Pinot Noirs are to be found in the Clos des Lambrays 2005 from the Domaine des Lambrays, Jacques Prieur’s Echézeaux 2006 and the Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2011 from the Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux.
We hope you will find what you are looking for!
