iDealwine has responded to a call from Laurent Fortin, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Aquitaine. The General Manager of Château Dauzac is currently collecting fine wines from Bordeaux and beyond to be auctioned via iDealwine in a special sale. The profits will be donated to the Ukraine Amitié association who are helping the Ukrainian civilian population.
An initiative by Laurent Fortin (Château Dauzac)
General Manager of Château Dauzac (an 1855 Margaux Grand Cru Classé) and Honorary Consul of Ukraine in New Aquitaine, Laurent Fortin came up with this solidarity project and we responded with eagerness. The idea? To provide financial help to the Ukraine Amitié association which is currently collecting donations and medicine for the civilian population.
With our expertise in wine auctions, and experience in running charity auctions (for the Vendanges Solidaires association, the Bergonié Institute Foundation and nursing staff during the pandemic), iDealwine is preparing to host a new humanitarian auction on our site. It will begin on Wednesday the 30th of March. The auction will take place online for ten days.
How to donate wine to the auction
Don’t waste any time! All wineries are invited to participate by donating wine to this sale. The donated lots must be sent directly to Château Dauzac, which will then collect them and send them on to iDealwine.
Deadline for submission: 21st March 2022
Address:
Château Dauzac
1 av. Georges Johnston
33460 Labarde
Important: please mention “Vente Ukraine Amitié” on the parcel sent to the estate.
In addition to wine estates, collectors wishing to make a donation are encouraged to do so. Whether you are a buyer or a seller on iDealwine, you can contribute to this important initiative. Attractive and always successful, large formats are particularly sought after 😊.
Depending on where you live, the wines can be sent to Château Dauzac, or directly to iDealwine, 190, rue d’Estienne d’Orves, 92700 Colombes. Again, please write “Vente Ukraine Amitié” on the box.
How will the sale take place?
iDealwine will compile the catalogue for the charity auction and it will be available online from the 30th March. For this purpose, each lot will be appraised and photographed. This is customary for iDealwine, Europe’s leading wine auctioneer, which last year saw nearly 200,000 bottles go under its hammer. The online auction will take place over 10 days, under its subsidiary IWA Auction, an approved auction operator. To bid, amateurs must register on the website www.iDealwine.com (free registration).
A symbolic price will be set for each lot at 1€, the wines will be sold without reserve price, and the profits of this charity auction – including the buyer’s commission – will be donated to the Ukraine Amitié association. iDealwine will take care of shipping the lots won during the auction to top bidders.
The entire iDealwine team, rallied by this operation, would like to thank Laurent Fortin in advance for his trust. As for you, winegrower friends and generous clients, a huge thank you for joining us to make this initiative a success!
