It’s time to take stock and look back on 2025. Great news! Sales on iDealwine reached €58.3 million (excl. VAT), up 9.8% compared to the previous year. Growth was essentially driven by rising volumes, more than offsetting the decline in average prices. This increase in volumes can be largely attributed to iDealwine’s international growth, which continues to cast its net wider, bringing fine wines to collectors across the globe.
2025: A Record Year for Auctions, Driven by Volume Growth
In 2025, 297,654 bottles (equivalent to 309,924 standard 75cl bottles) were sold by International Wine Auction, iDealwine’s subsidiary—an increase of 18.5% in volume. These sales generated €33.9 million (€42.4 million including buyer’s premium), representing growth of 9%.
This figure does not include the auction of wines from the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges, which was conducted by iDealwine in March 2025, and which totalled €0.9 million (fees included), as well as auctions of fine spirits via FSA—the joint venture between iDealwine and La Maison du Whisky—which reached €2.1 million (fees included).

A Wine Market Marked by Falling Average Prices
Against a turbulent global backdrop, and one shaped by declining wine consumption, the auction market nonetheless maintained strong momentum. The average price of wines sold at auction in 2025 fell by 8.2%, though this trend masks significant regional disparities.
This slight easing of prices undoubtedly delighted enthusiasts, who turned out in large numbers to bid on iDealwine throughout the year—fueling a notable increase in volumes sold.

And the most expensive wine of the year is…A Bottle of 2006 Musigny from Domaine Leroy
The highest-priced bottle sold in 2025 was a 2006 Musigny from Domaine Leroy, which fetched €25,416. The iconic estate of Lalou Bize-Leroy thus reclaims the top spot, ahead of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
This rivalry has been playing out for several years now, but since 2020, Domaine Leroy has consistently taken the lead whenever an exceptionally rare Musigny appears at auction (so rare it doesn’t happen every year).
Retail Activity Slows Amid a Sluggish French Market
Alongside its auction business, iDealwine has developed a robust online retail offering, supported by a network of over 1,000 partner estates. In 2025, however, this segment felt the impact of a subdued French market.
Despite these headwinds, sales still grew by 5% to reach €12.2 million (excl. VAT). At the same time, iDealwine continues to expand its range of complementary services: in addition to En Primeur sales, its wine storage offering is enjoying strong success among collectors—particularly those based abroad. Today, more than €11 million worth of fine wines are stored under iDealwine’s care.
2025: A Year of Accelerated International Expansion
2025 marked a new milestone in iDealwine’s global development, with the opening of an office in New York, complementing its existing locations in France (Paris, Bordeaux, Beaune) and Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore).
The list of countries eligible for delivery has also grown, with the addition of New Zealand. International clients—from 67 countries—now account for 62% of total sales on iDealwine (auctions and retail combined), a share that continues to rise steadily.
This international momentum is set to accelerate further in 2026. Following the launch of English, Italian, and German versions of the platform, a Spanish version is scheduled for release in the second half of the year. In addition, iDealwine will expand its delivery network across Latin America, including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
Cyrille Jomand, CEO of iDealwine, said:
“Leading international collectors are increasingly turning to iDealwine to enhance their cellars and source rare, high-value bottles. We are honored by their trust, and our team is fully committed to delivering a bespoke service that meets their exacting standards.”
In short, the ever evolving iDealwine story promises to be just as exciting in 2026!
