A new edition of the charity auction Vendanges Solidaires, organised for several years on iDealwine to help winegrowers in difficulty due to climate change, is underway. Place your bids on the lots from 31 October to 12 November on iDealwine.com.
A charity auction
This exceptional auction has a very special dimension. The totality of the funds raised will be donated to Vendanges Solidaires, an association that unrelentingly works to support winegrowers who have withstood adverse weather. Spring frost, hail, drought or torrential rains… the whims of the weather can destroy an entire year’s work in a matter of hours. Thanks to the generosity of donors and wine enthusiasts, Vendanges Solidaires provides those affected with financial aid as well as a valuable moral boost.
All the lots offered come directly from the cellars of winemakers, who have chosen to donate their bottles for this noble cause. iDealwine is also donating the time of its team through organising and promoting this auction. So it is the perfect opportunity to combine passion and solidarity; by bidding, you too participate in this chain of support for the world of wine that you love so much.
The association’s calling
The association, founded in 2016 by restaurateur Julien Fouin who was moved by the distress of many winemakers after a disastrous year, has since allowed dozens of winemakers to recover and continue their businesses. Vendanges Solidaires provides its aid in the form of zero-interest honour loans, intended for winegrowers who have been established for less than ten years and have been severely affected by crop losses.
In 2024, more than €29,000 was raised thanks to you, which represents nearly half of the association’s funds.
The 7th edition of this auction
For this new auction, nearly 150 bottles have been assembled into around sixty lots offered by winemakers. On the programme, bottles, magnums and double-magnums… Here’s a little sneak peak of what awaits you: 2015 Cheval Blanc, 2013 Petrus, 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Bonneau du Martray, 2015 Clos de la Roche from Dujac, 2017 La Fleur-Pétrus, 2014 Côte Rotie La Turque from Guigal, 2013 vintage from Dom Pérignon, 2015 Saumur Brézé from Guiberteau, and 2021 Château Pape-Clément.
