When the thermometer goes crazy, heavy wines are less tasty (an iDealwine proverb). We have created a cool summer sale, with an impressive selection to enjoy with fresh summer meals. Gourmet rosés, bright white wines and fresh reds are abundant at this Fixed-Price Sale!
This sale offers a wide selection of easy drinking wines for summer, with a beautiful array of rosés from Provence, Bandol, Bellet and elsewhere; an impressive range of good, mineraly whites (Chablis in Burgundy, Alsace and the Loire); as well as an exciting collection of fresh reds, perfect for that summer barbecue (Beaujolais, Jura, Loire, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage)… Not to mention a delicious range of Champagnes, something that can be enjoyed all year round.
Let’s start with the rosés, the flagship wines of summer. If you missed our June rosé sale, rest assured: this sale includes some beautiful wines from Provence (Léoube, Clos Cibonne, Domaine de Rimauresq, Domaine des Terres Promises and Bellet), Bandol (La Tour du Bon, Pibarnon, Pradeaux, La Bégude), Roussillon (Clos des Fées) and Rhône (Tavel La Dame Rousse de La Mordorée). Among these domaines, many wines are available in magnum, which will be beautiful and delicious at any summer table!
Summer is also synonymous with fresh white wines and we have a delicious selection on offer, with a particularly impressive range from Burgundy. This includes dozens of references from different Chablis domaines (Louis Michel, William Fèvre, Billaud-Simon, Drouhin-Vaudon, Long-Depaquit, Verget, Pinson, Chantemerle, Gilbert Picq), ranging from generic Chablis to the beautiful premiers crus (Montée de Tonnerre, Mont de Milieu, Fourchaume and Forêt) and the magnificent grand crus (Les Clos, Grenouille, Bougrot, Vaudésir).
The big names of the Côte d’Or, the heart of white Burgundies, are also present from the area’s top appellations (Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, with their plethora of premier and grand crus).
In Mâconnais, there is a great selection from Guffens, Héritiers des Comtes Lafon, Verget, Domaine de la Soufrandière and Bret Brothers… all of these producers are present, with their various cuvées from Mâcon or Pouilly-Fuissé.
From the Rhône valley, expect to find the whites of Saint-Péray from Domaine Voge, Domaine de Marcoux of Châteauneuf, Côtes-du-Rhône from La Vieille Julienne or the remarkable Cairanne white from domaine de L’Oratoire Saint Martin.
From other areas, this summer selection includes top Vouvray and Montlouis wines, a wide range of Champagnes and charming whites from the south in Languedoc, Roussillon, Provence and Corsica.
Finally, we have selected a fine range of lighter red wines to enjoy during the long summer evenings. This includes a wide variety from Beaujolais, fresh reds from the Loire, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph, as well as many Provence red wines.
Over-all, this sale offers an almost unlimited selection of refreshing wines to enjoy in summer! But don’t wait until too long, especially if you want to buy some rosé: these wines will sell very quickly in this beautiful, sunny weather!
