The permanent collection is growing both in quantity and quality. It is still with great precision that the iDealwine team selects the permanent collection, with rising domains, renowned names and classic wines. There’s something for everyone. The novelty is that the permanent collection is constantly upgraded, to offer you wines ranging from simple and easy-to-drink to fine, while the value for money remains reasonable! Let’s see what will make your mouth water.
iDealwine’s permanent collection is a condensed selection of the wines our team adores! Affordable wines allow you to start a decent enthusiast’s cellar and a little more precious and rarer wines to complete it. Every month, the selection evolves according to the availabilities of our favourite winegrowers, and it is gradually enhanced with our discoveries. The novelties offer us a nice trip around the vineyard.
From Bordeaux, it’s party time! Château Pontet-Canet, one of the most loved by our team, receptive to biodynamic wines, makes a sensational entrance in our permanent collection. It is surely one of Pauillac wines that has progressed the most in recent years, to the point that it has a very particular status today. The second one to join the selection is Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Grand Cru Classé Graves, rated 18/20 by Jancis Robinson. Château Clarisse comes straight down from the hill of Puisseguin Saint-Emilion, after having reached the top of the appellation in recent years. The “Traditionnelle” cuvée, young and fruity, is irresistibly flamboyant. Finally, the crispy and fresh Virevolte cuvée from La Closeries des Moussis joins the range, so does a confirmed name from the Margaux appellation, Château Monbrison. Sauternes is also a gold mine: we found Château Rabaud Promis and G from Guiraud, the dry white from Château Guiraud (GC).
From Burgundy, the new cuvées make us touch the stars with three magical appellations from two iconic houses: Chorey-Les-Beaune from Leroy and Chambolle-Musigny and Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits from Laurent Roumier. From Roussillon, Domaine Gauby is back with its iconic Muntada, but also its Vieilles Vignes cuvée and « Les Calcinaires », a nice and fresh white wine with pleasant aromas. If you don’t yet know the whites from Trévallon, you will learn that they simply appear among the monuments of the great wines from the South of France. Be careful, limited quantities.
From the Loire, take a break in Pouilly-Fumé, with the Domaine Michel Redde and its cuvée, Petit Fumé, a wine for sharing and that perfectly starts the evening. Afterwards, head towards Saumur-Champigny, with the famous Terres Chaudes from Domaine des Roches Neuves, produced by one of the great masters in the region; and finally, Sancerre offers the best of all, a cuvée by Alphonse Mellot named La Moussière. We continue on this beautiful way with a Muscadet, great value for money: Les Houx from Landron is a taut and iodic wine.
Fancy Champagne? A stop in Aÿ where we taste the Special Cuvée Bollinger, in magnum! An optimal format to reveal all the complexity, elegance and finesse of this great wine we enjoy at iDealwine. From Beaujolais, Fleurie brings us a breeze of generosity and a deep fruity expression: Les Garants from Domaine du Vissoux. And to complete this beautiful tour of the French vineyard, we have selected Domaine de la Tour des Gendres le Moulin des Dames, a white Bergerac with incredible charm, in a subtle and taut notes. Finally we finish on a flamenco note with the Camins del Priorat by Alvaro Palacio, named Spain’s most sensational winemaker by Wine Spectator, nothing less.
We hope you will enjoy this selection! The idea is that every time you draw a wine from this selection, you say “lucky draw”!
