Rediscover your favourite domains and delight in their latest vintages, newly added to iDealwine’s La Cave…
This July, why not rediscover your favourite domains and delight in their latest vintages! This Tour de France begins in Bordeaux, with two of the region’s icons: Les Carmes Haut Brion 2016 and Château Ausone 2015, 1er Grand Cru Classé A of Saint Emilion, in a magnum, no less! These gems will amply reward 15 to 20 years of aging in your cellar.
Over in the East, don’t miss out on essentials from Burgundy such as bottles from Anne-Françoise Gros, (Vosne-Romée Aux Réas, Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets), and natural wines from Philippe Pacalet in the 2016 and 2017 vintages. You’ll also find Laurent Roumier’s Bonnes-Mares, Clos de Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny: fruity and elegant wines thanks to masterful methods of vinification. Cult domain Dugat-Py is also present, with the 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru.
In the Rhône, you’ll find Yves Cuilleron’s elegant 2017s and 2018s and Pierre Coursodon’s wonderfully balanced Saint-Joseph. In the southern Rhône, we particularly recommend one of the region’s unmissable names: Marcel Richaud. His Côtes-du-Rhône Cairanne and Ebrascade are exceptional.
Heading back over to the west, but this time further south, Cahors domain Cosse-Maisonneuve is biodynamically-managed vineyard whose wines have tons of personality and charm. Look out for the cuvées La Marguerite 2014, Les Laquets 2016 and La Fage 2015.
A star has slid into La Cave. The inimitable Stéphane Bernaudeau, whose Vin de France are coveted by enthusiasts throughout the world, is here and awaiting your orders: gems such as Les Nourissons 2017, Les Onglés 2017 and Les Vrilles 2016, available at fixed-price – you’ll thank us later…
If you’re looking for something a little more exotic, why not cross the ocean and check out Argentinian domain El Enemigo, whose wines of Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay are simply beautiful.
We hope you enjoy exploring France (and the world!) through these vinous delights: happy shopping!
