What is fantastic about the foire aux vins here at iDealwine is that we’re offering exceptional signatures as well as rising stars, great, old vintages as well as younger wines, conventional wines as well as organic, biodynamic and/or natural wines. Styles of wine which greatly vary at all sorts of prices, their one common denominator being that they are of the highest quality possible! 😊

A high-profile foire aux vins: exceptional signatures, great, old vintages

Some of the most renowned, prestigious wines feature in iDealwine’s special Foire aux vins sale. The great vintages, 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016 are here in full force. As you know, iDealwine is THE mature wine specialist, and we have a fine selection of ready-to-drink vintages. You’ll also find some very old Rivesaltes, such as La Solibane 1948 or Villargeil 1958 and Casenobe 1977, but also old Madiran from the châteaux Bouscassé and Montus.

Bordeaux wines represent a large part of the selection and offer a choice to go wild over. Amongst the most mythical signatures, we are offering up the king of dessert wines, Château d’Yquem 2009, an excellent vintage, we’re sure you’ll agree! There are some excellent, ready to drink Sauternes, like Fargues (2003, 1996), Climens 2009, Rieussec 2009, Rayne Vigneau 2010, Nairac 2003, Lafaurie Peyraguey 2002, Coutet 2005. Staying on the Rive Gauche, but in the Médoc, we have some lovely signatures in relativaly mature vintages: Léoville Barton (2010, 2009) Cos d’Estournel 2012, Ducru Beaucaillou 2008, Sociando Mallet (2005, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996), Beychevelle 2009, Gruaud Larose 2009, Montrose 2013, Chasse Spleen 2010, 2009… We have some high-flying Rive droite wines also: Château l’Évangile, Pavie Macquin, Gazin, La Providence.

In Burgundy, the great signatures are Leroy (SA), Laurent Roumier (Clos de Vougeot), Jean Grivot (Nuits Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Pruliers), Bruno Clavelier (Nuits Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Cras Vieilles Vignes), De Montille (Volnay Premier Cru Mitans). Some mature vintages also feature, such as the Mâcon Pierreclos Tri de Chavigne 2009 from Guffens-Heynen or l’Auxey Duresses Premier Cru 2008 from Pierre Boisson.

In the Rhone valley, it’s now or never if you want to try the mythical trio of Côte Rôtie La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque from Guigal, but Château d’Ampuis’ and Jamet’s Côte Rôtie. In terms of Châteauneuf-du-pape, we highly recommend the great Château de Beaucastel and Clos du Mont-Olivet. The highlight of the show is without a doubt the sublime Cornas, cuvée Billes Noires 2006 from Domaine du Coulet.

Several other exceptional signatures can be found in this sale, such as the cuvée Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido, Grande Année 2002 from Bollinger, Valbuena 5º ano 2006 of Vega Sicilia, or the Porto Fonseca Vintage 2003.

A comprehensive, eclectic selection, which gives top billing to organic, biodynamic and natural wines

Whether you’re a weathered enthusiast or curious beginner, the iDealwine Foire aux vins has got it covered. In each region, our buyers have got their hands on – as well as the great classics – lesser-known cuvées: Jurançon Sec Les Jardins de Babylone, Morgon Vieilles Vignes from Daniel Bouland, La Muntada from Gauby, Saumur Champigny Terres Chaudes from Domaine des Roches Neuves, Cahors Les Laquets 2009 from Cosse-Maisonneuve, Savart and Jacquesson champagnes, Château Belle Vue (Haut-Médoc), Coteaux du Languedoc La Traversée from Gavin Crisfield or Ganevat’s Côtes du Jura (Cuvée Prestige 2008, Le Zaune à Dédé).

iDealwine also favours organic or biodynamic wines, some of which belong to the “natural wine” family. It’s worth noting Château Haut Bergey (Pessac-Léognan), Château Climens, Ganevat (natural), Olivier Pithon, Les Roches Neuves… all are biodynamic, and the domains Gauby, Jaboulet and Château de Beaucastel are organic.

And of course, lots of attractively-priced wines!

This year, iDealwine is putting the emphasis on finding the best value for pleasure wines, with an irresistible choice of wines at less than 20€ (more than 70 wines). Wine lovers looking for a delicious bargain won’t miss the Riesling Trocken from domain Fritz Haag priced at €11,90, Les Calcinaires from Gauby at €13,90, Château Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes 1996 at 19,90 or Bourgueil Prestige from the Domaine des Chesnaies, selling at a humble €8. There are around twenty Bordeaux wines selling for less than €20, such as the excellent Châteaux du Taillan, Belle-Vue, Le Sartre and Haut-Bergey. A touch more expensive in terms of price (25€), the excellent Château de Pressac 2016 (Saint-Emilion), tasted and enjoyed by our customers! Even in terms of Burgundy, we are extremely pleased to offer something for all budgets and offer some cuvées for less than 20€, such as the Viré Clessé Chazelle from domaine Sainte-Barbe (€12,50), or the Hautes Côtes de Nuits La Poirelotte from Laurent Roumier (€19).

Our special Foire aux vins sale is also offering meticulously selected non-French wines at affordable prices, like the Pinot Noir Haus Klosterberg from domaine Markus Molitor (Mosel, Allemagne), the cuvée Reserve from the south-African domain Glenelly, an introduction to the great Sassicaia (available in the sale in the 2014 vintage) with Le Difese 2015 fromTenuta San Guido (Tuscany, Italy), the white from Château Kefraya (Bekaa, Lebanon) or even the Porto Croft Quinta da Roeda.

Our advice is to act fast: the rarest cuvées are of course available only in limited quantities and may sell out fast… Especially given that the iDealwine team can’t wait for the launch of this sale! 😊

Wishing you all a fantastic Foire aux vins!
