Chinon, Saumur-Champigny, Cheverny, Touraine, Bourgueil, Sancerre, Anjou, Vouvray, Montlouis, Coteaux du Layon, Savennières, Pouilly Fumé, Saumur, Muscadet… we have selected the best red, white, sweet and sparkling wines. The choice is very qualitative with the finest domains (from the most famous to the most understated) and a majority of organic and biodynamic producers. You will enjoy it without having to spend a fortune.
If you are looking for great reds from the Loire, you’ll be fulfilled by this sale as we have chosen more than 1,000 bottles. For those who prefer them delicate, fresh and fruity, opt for the Pinot Noir from Clos du Tue-Boeuf (Cheverny, Touraine), Fouassier and François Crochet (Sancerre) as well as the Domaine de l’Ecu. For some more structure, chose the Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Domaine de La Chevalerie, Catherine et Pierre Breton, Domaine de La Butte – Jacky Blot -) Chinon (Charles Joguet, Bernard Baudry and Philippe Alliet) Saumur-Champigny (château de Villeneuve, Complices de Loire, Roches Neuves). Even if prices are rising, due to the worldwide success of the domain, check the mythical Clos Rougeard (Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg 2010).
If you prefer dry whites from the Loire, you will love the Saumur from Chateau de Villeneuve or from Domaine des Roches Neuves, the Cheverny and Tourraine from Clos du Tue-Boeuf and the many references from Complices de Loire. Muscadet lovers will be happy to find new references as the Domaine Bonnet-Huteau and Michel Bregeon and / or return to iDealwine’s classics as Domaine de l’Ecu, Landron or Pierre Luneau-Papin. We also offer beautiful Sancerre (François Crochet, Fouassier) Savennières (Nicolas Joly), Pouilly Fumé (Dagueneau) and sublime dry Vouvray (Huet, Clos Naudin). Finally, you will find in this sale a wine that has particularly impressed us at iDealwine: Les Nourissons by Stéphane Bernaudeau. Not to mention two domaines that have hit the headlines with their 2014 vintage, downgraded to “Vin de France” for ludicrous reasons: lovers will easily recognize their favourite producers, Domaine de La Taille aux Loups and François Chidaine.
Do not miss the sweet! Those from the Loire are so fine and exceptional… we have selected the best Vouvray and Coteaux du Layon. Starting with the wines of three iconic winemakers who manage to express the quintessence of Chenin grape, Philippe Foreau from Clos Naudin, Noël Pinguet from Domaine Huet (who left in 2012) and of course François Chidaine with his eponymous domain.
Finally, because we could not pretend to offer an exceptional Loire sale without presenting great sparkling wines, we have chosen some of the highest level: note the Vouvray bruts from Sebastien Brunet or Clos Naudin, the semi-dry from Domaine Huet and the very famous Triple Zero of Jacky Blot (Domaine de la Taille aux Loups).
We hope you will enjoy this selection as much as we did!
