Auctions follow one another and don’t completely look alike at iDealwine. Among the auctions that run until 14th June, it’s simple, you’ll find just about everything you can dream of in all the vineyards of the world! And of course, as usual you will be able to find some small treasures whose prices could stay low or not 😉
As always, Bordeaux wines represent an important part of our auctions, especially in fine mature vintages, for some very old ones, like château Branaire Ducru 1929, Cheval Blanc 1934, Yquem 1935, Latour 1940, Léoville Las Cases 1945 and Talbot, Beauséjour and Yquem on the mythical vintage 1947. Wine lovers will dream of these, for sure… You will find in this sale all the greatest wines of Bordeaux in a large range of vintages: Petrus, the best classified growth of Saint-Emilion and Médoc as well as top Crus Bourgeois, many second wines and other treasures. Very good value for money.
The 2nd star region of iDealwine auctions is of course Burgundy, supported by many wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, including an exceptional 6 bottle case (1 Montrachet, 1 La Tâche, 2 Romanée St Vivant, 2 Echézeaux), but also Armand Rousseau, Ramonet, Comte Georges de Vogüé, Georges Roumier, Ponsot, Leroy, Raveneau and many others. Once again the catalogue brings together the most prestigious appellations and those with very good value for money. Moreover, you can buy your favourite wines of Burgundy in vintages ready to drink, even very mature, like the Grands-Echézeaux 1959 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Also worth mentioning, thirty lots without a reserve price (priced at €1), which will certainly bring a lot of interest.
In the Rhône Valley, the selection is of the same kind. Châteauneuf is represented by the mythic Château Rayas (in many vintages), the great cuvées of Clos Saint-Jean in magnums: Sanctus Sanctorum (2009 and 2010), Deus Ex Machina (2010) and many beautiful signatures of the appellation (Cuvée Da Capo of Pegaü, La Janasse, Clos des Papes, Vieux Telegraphe, Beaucastel, La Barroche, La Nerthe). To follow closely, the good deals from the other properties of Emmanuel Reynaud: Château des Tours and Domaine des Tours. In the north of the region, alongside the famous Hermitage La Chapelle Paul Jaboulet Aîné (1989, 1990), there are other prestigious Hermitage (JL Chave), and sumptuous wines from Côte-Rôtie (La-La-La Guigal, Gangloff, Jamet) and from Cornas (Auguste Clape).
In the Loire Valley, the most beautiful signatures are present, such as the Cuvée Silex of Dagueneau (Pouilly-Fumé), the Vouvray La Goutte d’Or of the Clos Naudin, the Vouvray Clos du Bourg 1989 Domaine Huet or the Sancerre En Grands Champs 2002 by Alphonse Mellot. However the Loire Valley is also the region for reasonable prices, with many wines that could preserve attractive prices, such as Sancerre (including some Alphonse Mellot cuvées), Saumur-Champigny of René-Noël Legrand, Anjou by Richard Leroy, but also Michel Redde’s Pouilly-Fumé, Les Bois Saint Andelain, which keeps a very interesting quality-price ratio.
In other French regions, do not forget the Alsace region, where you will find both very prestigious wines (such as the Gewurztraminer Selection de Grains Nobles 1989 from Domaine Hugel), as well as wines at low prices (such as Pinot Gris Orschwihr Cuvée Jean Paul from Valentin Zusslin). In Champagne, you will discover exceptional lots such as the Oenothèque 1959 and 1992 by Dom Pérignon, many vintages of Cristal Roederer, Krug’s Clos du Mesnil 1981 and 1989 and the cuvée S by Salon, but also names like Selosse, Bollinger etc. In the Languedoc, there are many bottles from the Grange des Pères, old Bandol from Pibarnon in Provence, and in the South-West, an Armagnac from 1942.
To conclude in style, let’s not forget some fine foreign wines, such as Tenuta dell’Ornellaia and Tenuta San Guido (Tuscany), Opus One (Napa Valley), Fritz Haag (Nahe), Tokays etc. But also Port, superb Japanese and Scottish whiskys, rums from Guadeloupe or Martinique.
