Magnums of 1997 Château Margaux and 2007 Château de Beaucastel, dazzling bottles of Armand Rousseau’s Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru, and even some precious imperials await your bids in our latest auction.
Burgundy in the spotlight
The big stars of this auction are the magnificent bottles of Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru Les Cazetiers from the exceptional Domaine Armand Rousseau: no fewer than nine different vintages are up for auction, ranging from 1990 to 2008. This parcel is found just after the Clos Saint Jacques, a cru we also have at auction in its 1995 vintage.
Don’t miss the chance to become the happy owner of a 1976 cuvée from the inimitable Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Burgundy’s landmark estate. Also available is a 2009 grand cru from Domaine Leroy, as well as some bottles of 1999 Romanée-Saint-Vivant by Louis Latour.
Bordeaux and its grands crus
As always, Bordeaux has some exceptional cuvées. This time around, Saint-Emilion grands crus such as the 1989 Château Angélus, 2012 Château d’Ausone, and 2014 Château Pavie. Some of the finest Pomerol names are going under the hammer, too, with bottles from Château La Conseillante, Château l’Evangile, and Château Lafleur…all to be left to age for a while in your cellar. The Sauternes appellation is also represented here by Château d’Yquem, with a half-bottle of the 1945 premier cru and bottles in the 2003 and 2005 vintages.
Favourites from Champagne and the Rhône
From Champagne, you’ll find mature vintages from Dom Pérignon, with bottles dating from 1947 and 1959. The famous Salon is featured with a bottle of its 1990 S cuvée, whilst Pol Roger has its Winston Churchill cuvée in the 2002, 2004, and 2008 vintages. A 1966 cuvée from the iconic Taittinger is also up for auction.
The star of the Rhône in this auction is undoubtedly a collection of bottles from Jean-Louis Chave, one of Hermitage’s finest; bottles from 1978, 1983, 2000, and 2007 all feature. If you’re a fan of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, you might want to bid on a bottle from Château Rayas, available in 2003, 2005, and 2009.
There are some especially generous bottles waiting for your bids this time. Bigger formats are available in such top cuvées as the 2001 Clos de Bèze grand cru from Prieuré Roch, the 1997 Château Margaux, 2001 Petrus, 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin cuvée from Château de Beaucastel and a 2010 Bourgeuil Clos Nouveau from Domaine du Bel Air. If you’re a fan of fizz, you might want to get your hands on the 5th edition of Maison Henriot’s La Réserve Perpétuelle champagne.
