The holidays are over, but there’s no need to be blue about it. We’ve got some lovely new arrivals in our cellar for you to peruse, including an exceptional Special Collection!
This auction features a special collection, wines that have been carefully collected by a seasoned wine lover. Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhone and Loire valleys… the finest of each of these makes an appearance here.
You’ll find Roederer’s Cristal, a 2002 vintage from Jacquesson and a 1996 Dom Pérignon in Champagne, emblematic Burgundian figures (Jacques Prieur, Dujac, Jean-Frédéric Mugnier, Olivier Leflaive), sumptuous Bordeaux grands crus to be savoured or kept (Yquem, Pontet-Canet, Léoville Las Cases, Figeac), a handful of vintages from Domaine de Pignan ranging from 2001 to 2009 and the LA-LA-LA (La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque) from Guigal in the Rhône, bottles from Domaine de La Grange des Pères in the Languedoc, various wines from the Clos Rougeard (Les Poyeux, des saumurs Brézé) in the Loire. And, to top it all off, we’re pleased to propose some fine spirits such as an 1875 cognac from Delamain, whiskies signed by the emblematic Macallan, Cadenhead and Gordon & MacPhail, and the 1968 calvados from Roger Groult, in its original box.
Head abroad again
This is a selection that’ll transport you once more to foreign lands. Head for Germany to discover unique Rieslings that only Germany can produce, signed here by Egon Müller and Joh. Jos. Prüm. Further east, Hungary will charm you with the bewitching character of its 1980, 2000 and 2004 vintage Tokajis. Take time to explore the Italian Grande Botte: its wine regions are numerous, varied and prestigious. Between the Barolos of Giovan Battista Burlotto, the brunello-di-montalcino riserva of the Biondi Santi family and the Super Tuscan wines of Tenuta San Guido, you’re spoilt for choice! Spain also has a lot to offer. Take the chance to savour the Priorat wines of Terroir Al Limit, the Rioja by Bodega Contador and the rioja-reserva from Marquès de Riscal.
Outside Europe, South America opens its doors to you to conquer the 2003 vintage of Cheval des Andes (Argentina, Mendoza) and some recent Chilean vintages. In the United States, discover the mystery of the legendary Opus One and its 1988 vintage. Finally, in China, the Yunnan region will surprise you with its Ao Yun 2016 vintage.
Treasures of France
Finally, since France deserves to be explored in full by all wine lovers worthy of their title, we have put together a nice selection of wines that honour its much sought-after terroirs. In Alsace, biodynamic viticulture is in the spotlight with the wines of André Ostertag, Zind-Humbrecht, Marc Kreydenweiss and Marcel Deiss. In Auvergne, kingdom of natural wines at the cutting edge, some gems are to be found, such as the wines of the Vignoble de l’Arbre Blanc and Daniel Sage. Beaujolais always attracts lovers of Jean Foillard’s Morgon Côte-du-Py, Roussillon, aficionados of old Rivesaltes, Savoie, the curious in search of upmarket wines at ever-so-smooth prices (Domaines Belluard and Gilles Berlioz), and the South-West, lovers of characterful grape varieties with the Jurançon wines of Cauhapé and Charles Hours.
So, are you ready to get going? Happy bidding 😊
