Auction: stars and hidden gems from 1923 to 2016

auction march 20With over 10,000 bottles, this latest auction is a compelling selection of wines for your cellar. Featured here are a range of stunning bottles from cult domains and classic vintages.

Starting with Burgundy, this catalogue boasts an extensive selection from the most revered names of this region: Romanée-Conti (La Tâche, Montrachet), Leroy (Musigny) and Bernard Dugat-Py (Chambertin). Chambertin from Domaine Armand Rousseau is also well represented with a large range of vintages. We are delighted to present some rare offerings from the outstanding Domaine Mugnier and Domaine Jacques Prieur. Prestigious appellations are well accounted for, including Chablis from Domaine Dauvissat, Saint Aubin from Marc Colin, Mercurey from Château de Chamirey, Givry from Domaine Joblot and, finally, Meursault from Domaine Jobard. This charming selection, up for auction at attractive prices, should satisfy any lover of great Burgundy.

From Bordeaux there is an attractive selection of Grands Crus in a large array of classic vintages, a centre piece of the collection being Petrus in both 1989 and 1990. Another rarity is the choice from Château Latour and Château Ausone, both now unavailable to buy en primeur. There are also many Premiers Crus to choose from including delights from Yquem in a variety of vintages. The second wines from Lafite Rothschild and Margaux are not to be overlooked and offer excellent wines at alluring prices, as do bottles from La Lagune, Chasse-Spleen, Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Marbuzet and Château Climens.

The Rhône comprises of an enviable selection of Côte-Rôtie (Guigal), Hermitage (Jean-Louis Chave), Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône (Château Rayas), not to mention Cornas from Thierry Allemand. Unearth some treasures from Usseglio, Beaucastel and Charvin and you could pick up a special bottle at an excellent price.

The pièce de résistance from the Loire takes form in the Saumur-Champigny from Clos Rougeard or perhaps the Pouilly-Fumé from Domaine Dagueneau while the rare offerings, in six different vintages, from Clos de la Néore are a great choice for anyone partial to Sancerre. Finally, for those looking for something special to start off their cellar, we recommend browsing the selection of Saumurs and Saumur-Champigny from Domaine des Roches Neuves as well as the Chinons from Bernard Baudry and the Muscadets from Domaine de l’Ecu. Note also that the 2011 vintage of the celebrated Saumur Brézé from Clos Rougeard has no reserve price…

From the Languedoc you will find exceptional wines from the cult Domaine de la Grange des Pères, Domaine d’Aiguelière, Mas Jullien and Mas Daumas Gassac. Alsace is represented by a mouthwatering selection of fine Rieslings from Clos Sainte-Hune, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, Domaine Weinbach, Domaine Ostertag and Domaine Marcel Deiss (Grand Cru Mambourg). Those with a predilection for vin jaune will appreciate the impeccable offerings from Overnoy and Ganevat while some impeccably sourced non-French wines from Tuscany (Sassicaia), Piedmont (Gaja), the Napa Valley and the Ribera del Duero (Flor-de-Pingus) completes the collection. Finally, a magnificent array of rare whiskies, port, cognac and rum will appease any lover of spirits.

Happy bidding.
