Auction: old vintages and rare bottles | 5,000 lots

VE one julyChâteau Ausone 1961, Lafite Rothschild 1943, Caillou 1961, Coutet 1962, Armagnac from 1891, 1912 and 1918, Yquem 1941, Port from 1900, the 1950s and the 1960s, Marsala from 1840, Rivesaltes from 1945… This latest auction is a collection of reputable names in old vintages with some pleasingly low starting bids.

Bordeaux is well represented in this latest auction with many old vintages: Yquem (1941, 2009), Petrus (1979, 1986, 2012, 2014 et 2015), Château-Margaux (2000, 2010), Haut-Brion (1978, 1982), Cheval-Blanc (1996, 2006), Ausone (1998), Mouton-Rothschild (1981, 1983, 1995, 2009), Latour (1982), Lafite-Rothschild (1985) and much more. Many 12 bottle lots, magnums and double magnums are also proposed as well as many fine wines with a starting bid of just €1.

The choice of Burgundy is immense and brings together the biggest names from the region: Richebourg 2009 from Domaine Leroy, Chambertin 2015 from Armand Rousseau, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Amoureuses 2002 from Georges Roumier, Montrachet 2014 from Comtes Lafon and Meursault Premier Cru Les Perrières 2009 from Coche Dury. Some of the most prestigious domains are present: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Roulot, Méo-Camuzet, Mongeard-Mugneret, Leflaive, René Engel (Domaine Eugénie). Old vintages are legion and feature treasures such as the Richebourg 1966 and the Vosne-Romanée 1975 from Charles Noellat. This auction is also an occasion to discover Burgundy at smaller prices, especially the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais.

Some of the rarities from the Rhône include the offerings from Henri Bonneau with La Réserve des Célestins 1977 and 2000, Château Rayas (Châteauneuf-du-Pape), Gonon (Saint-Joseph), Chave (Hermitage), Thierry Allemand (Cornas), Guigal (Côte-Rôtie LA-LA-LA, Hermitage Ex Voto). This auction also brings together some of the finest Côte-Rôtie from Guigal, of course, but also Jamet, Jean-Michel Gerin, François Villard, René Rostaing and Gangloff…

Champagne enthusiasts look no further: a 1996 from Selosse, a Veilles Vignes Françaises 2004 from Bollinger, Cristal 1964, 1982 and 1988 from Roederer as well as Krug, Egly-Ouriet and more are all present.

Fine wines such as the Clos Rougeard Le Bourg 2010 and 2005, the Riesling Vendanges Tardives Altenberg De Bergheim 1996 from Marcel Deiss and the Savennières Clos de la Coulée de Serrant 1990 rub shoulders with the hidden gems and rising stars of the French vineyard that offer attractive prices such as Château Thivin, Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon, Château Pressac, Domaine de l’A and Yannick Amirault.

Note also that this auction features some interesting alternatives: Armagnac Laubade 1936, 1946, 1955, 1956, Liqueur de Champagne Selosse Il Etait Une Fois, Bas Armagnac Samalens 1891…The choice of fine wines from the Jura is also worth the detour, especially the bottles from Overnoy, Ganevat and Tissot. Finally, peruse the selection of non-French wines: Screaming Eagle 2012, Barbera d’Alba DOC Riserva Pozzo dell’Annunziata 1996, 2000, 2001, Roberto Voerzio, Barolo DOCG Riserva Monfortino 1996 from Giacomo Conterno…

Happy bidding!
