Auction: mythic signatures and landmark vintages, nearly 5,000 exceptional lots | AUCTION CLOSED

VE one June This latest auction, ending on the 13th and 14th June, brings together the finest and rarest wines from France and beyond. You’ll find all those hard to find bottles from the most reputable producers, and in the very best vintages (1929, 1945, 1947, 1949, 1953, 1959, 1961, 1982, 1990). To make it even more interesting, many lots have a starting bid of just €1…

As you’d expect the all biggest names from Bordeaux are here and a significant number of lots are proposed in the most stunning vintages: 1982 (Latour, Haut-Brion), 1990 (Petrus, Montrose, Léoville Las Cases), 1989 (Clinet, Montrose), 2000 (Margaux, Haut-Brion, Angélus). You’ll also find some excellent examples from 2009 and 2010, not to mention from 1961 (Château l’Église Clinet, Lynch Bages, Phélan Ségur). We highly recommend watching the lots of Château Belle-Vue, Fonroque, Phélan Ségur (1980) and La Tour Carnet (2010), they could present a very good opportunity.

Resting on the theme of ‘vintages of the century’, 1978 was an outstanding year in Burgundy and this auction gives you the chance to try the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru from Leroy in this vintage. Other stars include the Montrachet 1982 from Comtes Lafon, the Grand Cru La Tâche 1989 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and the Chambertin and the Chambertin Clos de Bèze 1990 from Armand Rousseau. Other fine signatures include the Chambolle Les Amoureuses from Georges Roumier and the Meursault from Coche-Dury, Arnaud Ente and Jean-Marc Roulot while offerings from the Côte Chalonnaise offer up interesting prices.

From the Rhône, don’t miss the selection from 1988 (Châteauneuf-du-Pape Beaucastel, Clos Saint-Jean), 1989 and 1990 (Château-Grillet). There are also several rare lots of the Réserve des Célestins from Henri Bonneau, as well as treasures from Rayas and Jean-Louis Chave. Certain lots, including those of Hermitage Ex Voto from Guigal and Châteauneuf from Clos des Papes, have a starting bid of just €1. You’ve been told…

The selection from the Loire includes around 60 lots of Clos Rougeard. There is also the ultra-rare Vouvray La Goutte d’Or 2015 from Clos Naudin, produced only in the finest years (1945, 1947, 2011 and 2015) and sublime bottles from Dagueneau, Huet, and La Coulée de Serrant.

The most prestigious Champagne houses are well represented in vintages such as 1982 (Krug Vintage) while from the Jura you might be tempted by the Vin Jaune 1990 or the Arbois Pupillin 2005 from Overnoy. The Languedoc offers up La Grange des Pères in all the best years and there is an immense choice of non-French bottles to whet your appetite also.

Happy bidding!
