Auction closed 26 April

With a rich catalogue of 3,500 lots, Bordeaux and Burgundy carve the lion’s share in this sale which features the most illustrious representative wines of each appellation. But beware, all the other regions are full of treasures too and will make the most jaded of you vibrate. You have until 26th April to place your bids. See below a selection of some wines we find particularely interesting.

First of all, the afficionados of old vintages will find their happiness in Bordeaux and Burgundy. Beginning with this 1923 Clos de Vougeot (Marey Liger-Belair), a 1945 Romance of B. de Monthélie, or Latour 1947 and 1949. The two flagship regions also feature renowned wines from the 50s and 60s. You will find for example a Château Pichon Lalande 1959, a magnum of Château Malartic Lagravière 1958 or even a Chambertin 1961 from Domaine Leroy… simply unique!

But let’s focus on Bordeaux. Beyond the Premiers (Latour, Mouton, Lafite…), many other classified growths are featured. On the left bank (Léoville Poyferré, Léoville Barton, Lynch Bages, Pontet Canet, Beychevelle, Ducru …) as well as on the right bank (Ausone, Cheval Blanc, Tertre Roteboeuf, Viexu-Chateau-Certan). The great names of Pessac are not forgotten, such as wines of Château Haut Brion, but also Pape Clement, Domaine de Chevalier or Haut-Bailly.

For those who regret not having jumped on the opportunity to acquire the famous 2005, 2009, and 2010, it is not too late! Unsurprisingly, the region has produced in these vintages small wonders, such as Petrus 2005, Chateau L’Evangile 2010 or at a cheaper price, Héritage de Chasse Spleen 2009.

For those wishing to discover the best classified growth through their second wines, this sale offers a selection of excellent ones: Alter-Ego from Palmer (€35), Pavillon Rouge and Blanc from Margaux or Carruades de Lafite are tantalizing alternatives. The most gourmands of you will enjoy the double magnums from Cantemerle and Nénin or in magnum Mouton Rothschild 2001, Clos Fourtet 2009, Léoville-Barton 1995…

You are dreaming of great Burgundy, while regretting their inaccessible character? Look at the wine selection sold without reserve price: auctions start at €1! The Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru 2001 and the Beaune 1er Cru Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus, are a little glimpse of the 1997 Meursault of Comtes Lafon and of Bouchard Père et Fils. On all these lots the prices could climb quickly. And what about the superstars such as the magnum of Bonne-Mares 2010 from Domaine Roumier, the Meursault-Perrieres from Coche-Dury and the Montrachets from Sauzet, Ramonet or Lafon, or the Musigny from Mugnier? Take a look at the originality of the selection which includes a fine Burgundy of Romanée Conti.

The iconic signatures are not lacking in this sale. Take the Jura, for example. This region is now in full swing, thanks in particular to a few flagship areas such as Overnoy, Ganevat, Macle, Tissot or Puffeney. You will find a selection as vast as exceptional in this sale, with wines simply not found elsewhere than on iDealwine!

Among the other regions to follow, in the Rhone the great names are legion, from Guigal in Côte-Rôtie to Auguste Clape in Cornas, passing by Chave in Hermitage and to the South, Rayas, Beaucastel (Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2010), Clos des Papes or Marcoux. In Loire, you’ll find names celebrated all over the world (Dagueneau, Huet, Coulée de Serrant, Clos Rougeard, Alliet …)? In Alsace, Trimbach, Hugel, Zind-Humbrecht, Deiss or Josmeyer and Languedoc-Roussillon, Grange des Pères, Clos des Fées, Petite Sibérie, Mas Daumas Gassac and Peyre-Rose.

The auction closed on 26 April
