From Bordeaux, you’ll be spoilt for choice as wines and vintages vary from 1940 to 2014. If you have decided to break your piggy bank to treat yourself with a « Premier Grand Cru », it’s now or never. Indeed, different lots may please you: Caisse Collection Duclot (2008), Petrus and other first growths, sold singly or in lots, or even second wines! But there are of course excellent wines at lower prices: 1855 classified growths and crus bourgeois – Les Ormes de Pez , Poujeaux, Maucaillou. Discover these unclassifiable wines, we love: Gloria, Clos Puy Arnaud, Haut Condissas, Sociando Mallet. We’ve spotted wonderful rarities like Château Latour 1949, Château Filhot 1947, and several exceptional wines in the great 1959 vintage: Petrus, Lafite-Rothschild, Pichon-Longville-Comtesse-de-Lalande, Guiraud or Ducru-Beaucaillou. But also beautiful lesser-known 1961 wines, which could remain quite affordable. Or not, it depends on you :-).
From Burgundy, you’ll find dream wines just like the Bordeaux selection, especially since this sale features one of the rarest wines from the Côte-de-Nuits: Grand Cru-La-Romanée, from the eponymous appellation, the smallest one in France. It is even rarer, as it is a magnum. Besides, if you are looking for unique wines in the world, you will have the choice between Henri Jayer Echézeaux, Faiveley Musigny and Domaine Leroy Latricières-Chambertin. Don’t forget the famous Grand Cru Romanée-Conti La-Tâche. You will find many large formats: besides La-Romanée 2000 (in magnum), this auction offers Chambertin Clos de Bèze from Pierre Damoy (in nabuchodonozor), Corton-Charlemagne from Pavelot (in magnum) alongside many other generous bottles. A vast range of vintages goes from1937 to 2014. Among the very mature wines, try Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru C.Marey & Comte Liger Belair 1937 and Faiveley Musigny 1947. Concerning gorgeous white wines, discover Corton-Charlemagne from Domaine Coche-Dury, Montrachet from Ramonet or from Etienne Sauzet. As always, you will find, even in this region known to be overpriced, great opportunities, with several starting bids at €1, as well as wines whose prices could remain reasonable, especially from Côte Chalonnaise.
From the Rhône, Rayas, Auguste Clape, Guigal (particularly LA-LA-LA1), Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle, next to slightly less prestigious but still very specific names like Château des Tours, Jasmin, Chateau-Grillet, Georges Vernay, Clusel Roch. If you are searching for lower prices, check out the wines from l’Oratoire Saint Martin, Sylvie Vacheron, Graillot, Combier.
From the Loire, sweet wines are in the spotlight (Clos Naudin, François Chidaine), without forgetting the sublime bottles from Edmond Vatan, Alphonse Mellot, Dagueneau, François Cotat and Roches Neuves. Alsace is well represented with famous names like Zind-Humbrecht, Hugel, Weinbach, Deiss. From Champagne, Bollinger (Grande Année, R.D) rubs shoulders with Krug Grande Cuvée. From Languedoc, several lots from Grange des Pères will finally give you the opportunity to taste this wine, known to be the best from South of France! Finally, abroad, we have gathered for you wines such as Egon Muller Riesling, Cheval des Andes, but also excellent whiskys.
Go ahead and bid!
