How often can you access a selection of 500 cuvées of red Burgundy in one place? Starting the year with such sale was one of our resolutions and Pinot Noir lovers should enjoy the choice and affordability of some wines.
Our team has worked hard on this 100% red Burgundy sale selecting the best terroirs and winemakers in recent vintages. It ranges from generic Bourgogne as this La Taupe Chavy-Chouet at €11 to the acclaimed Chambertin from Denis Mortet with prices over €500. In brief, a large choice from for all tastes and budgets!
Côte de Nuits
Let’s start with Marsannay and Fixin in the North of Côte de Nuits. You’ll find Jean Fournier, Geantet-Pansiot, Bruno Clair, René Bouvier and château de Marsannay. In the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin, the most famous producers are present: Denis Mortet, Fourrier, Drouhin, Groffier, David Duband, Louis Jadot, Laurent Roumier, Louis Latour… and we have just included two new winemakers: domaine Sérafin and domaine Arlaud, renowned for their organic approach to viticulture (even biodynamic for the second).
Heading South to Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, let’s highlight the numerous Bonnes-Mares (Joseph Drouhin, Groffier, Magnien, Bruno Clair, Louis Latour), Clos de Tart de Mommessin and Clos Saint-Denis from Louis Jadot.
In Vougeot, we recommand Clos de Vougeot from Denis Mortet, Jean Grivot or the acclaimed domaine de Montille.
In Vosne-Romanée, we display a few Grands Crus: Richebourg from Gros Frère & Sœur, Grands-Echézeaux from Michel Noellat, François Lamarche, Jayer-Gilles, Jean Grivot and domaine des Perdrix. You’ll also find stunning Premiers Crus as the ones of Bruno Clavelier (new reference on iDealwine) or Méo-Camuzet.
Finally in Nuits-Saint-Georges, we are happy to present domaine Lecheneaut (another new reference), unless you prefer cult wines from Leroy or Gilles Jayer!
Côte de Beaune
The selection is also very sharp and qualitative in Côte de Beaune. Note Domaine Pavelot, a classic from Pernand-Vergelesses or domaine Rapet, a new reference that offers great price-quality ratios. In Savigny-lès-Beaune, we know you’ll love the Premier Cru Les Narbantons by Leroy yet the ones of Simon Bize or Michel Ecard are also worse the taste. You’ll find our traditional cuvées that we buy on auction during the annual Hospices de Beaune: Beaune 1er Cru Cuvée des Dames Hospitalières (2011, 2013), Beaune 1er Cru Cuvée Rousseau-Deslandes (2011) and the Volnay 1er Cru Cuvée Général Muteau (2012).
The Pommards by Chavy-Chouet, domaine de Courcel or Dugat-Py are fabulous as the Chassagne-Montrachet from domaine Ramonet. We have a nice selection of Corton: Bouchard Père et Fils, La Pousse d’Or, domaine de Montille, Drouhin… and many Volnay Premiers Crus.
Last but not least, in Côte Châlonnaise, the selection is full of good deals! A few nice picks: Rully de Vincent Dureuil-Janthial, Mercurey by Raquillet or Château de Chamirey (€18 only), Givry from Ragot and Joblot. In this part of Burgundy price remain (still) very affordable.
Most of you know if but for the new customers, quantities are limited in fixed-price sales and the rule is: first come first served!
